Danone Nutricia focuses on early life nutrition and advanced medical nutrition, with a mission to make a difference in people’s health through science-based nutritional products.
Nutricia’s digital team wanted to improve the efficiency of its e-commerce funnel, with a focus on increasing navigation depth, reducing abandonment, and driving conversion without relying on broad, undifferentiated promotional tactics. The main goals were:
To guide users through the product catalog from the earliest stages of their browsing journey - to improve engagement depth and reduce the risk of early drop-off among low-intent or first-time visitors
To re-enage users showing signs of abandonment through timely, contextually relevant interactions
To expand the commercial value of each session by highlighting product recommendations that were relevant to each user
To address these challenges, Verada deployed a suite of behavioral targeting strategies by identifying specific user segments and delivering personalized onsite messages tailored to browsing behavior and purchase intent, using both real-time and historical data.

Each on-site strategy’s impact was validated through a statistically significant A/B test, comparing a targeted group against a control group over a defined period. The results demonstrated clear, measurable uplift across all key e-commerce metrics:
-8% in Cart Abandonment Rate
+18% in Conversion Rate
+22% in Net Revenue per Visit
These outcomes confirm that behavioral targeting can meaningfully improve both user engagement and commercial performance.

Partnering with Verada has enabled us at Danone Nutricia to significantly enhance our digital customer engagement strategy. Their behavioral personalization capabilities have allowed us to deliver more relevant experiences across key touchpoints, resulting in improved conversion performance.
